277/0607 – Chairman's Remarks
Cllr Jones opened the meeting.
278/0607 – Apologies for absence
Apologies from Cllr Dale and Cllr Palmer were received and accepted.
279/0607 – To approve the minutes of the last meeting
It was proposed by Cllr Riley and seconded by Cllr Walker that the minutes of 8 February 2007 were a true and accurate record and signed accordingly. Matters arising would be dealt with at the meeting on 8th March 2007.
280/0607 – Motion to exclude members of the press and public due to the confidential nature of the discussion
Proposed by Cllr Jones and seconded by Cllr Forrest the motion was unanimously agreed.
281/0607 – Parish Rooms
Councillors held a detailed discussion on the sale of the Parish Room. Cllr Jones proposed, Cllr Tilford seconded the motion:
"The Parish Council should submit a tender by Friday 9 March for the Parish Room".
A vote was taken and the motion was defeated by 6 votes to 1.
282/0607 – The Grange
Cllr Jenkins read out a letter received from Bradford College stating that they did own the Grange although the evidence was still considered to be insufficient.
Cllr Jones had spoken to Shabir Mohammed in the Housing Department at BMDC, there was no further progress on schemes for affordable housing at the Grange. Further meetings to be held next week may provide more information.
Cllr Horton raised a query over the college's charitable status. Further enquiries to be made as to the charitable status of the college.
