83/0708 Chairman's remarks
Cllr Jones opened the meeting and thanked everyone for attending this extra meeting.
84/0708 Apologies for absence
Cllrs Dale and Jenkins were on holiday and had sent apologies; these were received and accepted.

86/0708 Minutes of previous meeting

RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting of 12th July be accepted as a true and accurate record.
87/0708 Press and Public

88/0708 Standing Orders

89/0708 Proposal to Bradford College
Cllr Jones briefed councillors on the latest position re: Bradford College and the result of her discussions with District Councillors. A formal proposal needed to be submitted to the college this week and ahead of the Governors meeting in September.

RESOLVED unanimously that Burley Parish Council offer an additional £15,000 to Bradford College for purchasing Burley Grange in conjunction with the developer.
90/0708 Parish Room
The Parish Room was for sale again. Councillors discussed the feasibility of purchasing the Parish Room including likely costs for essential repairs, estimated costs for conversion and likely uses of the building.
91/0708 Purchase of the Parish Room

RESOLVED unanimously that Burley Parish Council offer £120,000 to purchase the Parish Room subject to a full structural survey.
92/0708 Any Other Business
Burley House Field - Cllr Jones and the Parish Clerk had met with officers from BMDC to discuss a lease on the field. The meeting had been very positive in tone and officers were consulting on the potential length of any lease. It was hoped that a lease or an agreement to lease could be put in place quickly and before the end of the current farm business tenancy.
Parish Clerk had details on two forthcoming events - nominations for election to West Yorkshire Pennine Local Access Forum and Neighbourhood Improvement Strategic Partnership Network Event run by Bradford Vision. Anyone interested in either of these events to contact the Parish Clerk.
Planning Officers had advised that they were recommending refusal of application number 07/05358/FUL due to the proposed development bringing cumulative additions to the house up to 96% of the footprint of the original house.
Councillors agreed to not to ask that this application be sent to Shipley Planning Panel.
