Cllr Jones opened the meeting

Cllrs Dale, Jenkins and Palmer had sent apologies; these were received and accepted.

RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting of 16th August be accepted as a true and accurate record.
98/0708 Press and Public

RESOLVED that the press and public be excluded from item 7 of the meeting due to the confidential nature of the business to be discussed
99/0708 Parish Rooms
A full structural survey of the Parish Rooms had taken place. Cllr Jones had met with the surveyor and had received a verbal report ahead of the full written report. The survey raised several serious areas of concern that Cllr Jones outlined to the councillors present. Councillors would receive a copy of the report in due course. Discussion took place of the estimated costs of renovating the property. In light of the survey's results these were much higher than previously discussed. Councillors expressed concern over the desirability and potential difficulties involved in borrowing money for such a project and the impact this would have on the precept.

RESOLVED that Burley Parish Council will not increase its offer for purchase of the Parish Rooms.
