The minutes of the meeting of 12 October. It was proposed by Cllr Dale and seconded by Cllr Forrest that these were a true and accurate record and were signed accordingly.
152/06 Matters arising
There were no matters arising.
153/06 Planning applications
Receipt of the following applications was acknowledged and considered as follows:
06/06914/FUL – 16 Farr Royd
First floor rear extension and side gable extension.
Resolved: Recommend approval
06/07392/CAC & 06/07386/FUL – 12 Aireville Terrace
Demolition of a 1929 house and construction of 9 apartments and associated works. Following discussion the planning committee agreed to recommend refusal of demolition as this house contributes to the character of the surrounding area and there is no evidence that it is structurally unsound. The amended development proposal was considered to still be over-dominant on the site and street scene. It was the view of the committee that 9 dwellings were too many for this site. Concern continued to be expressed on the matter of highways and access, Aireville Terrace and Station Road are very busy and often congested, this is a bus route and a major access route to the part of the village located west of Station Road.
Resolved: Recommend refusal
06/06990/FUL - 31 Stirling Road
Construction of conservatory to front of property.
Resolved: Recommend approval
06/07679/FUL - 2 Hopps Barn Back Lane
Single storey extension to rear (A65 side of the building)
Resolved: Recommend approval
154/06 Note decisions from BDMC
06/05631/FUL - 25 Endor Crescent
Single and two storey extension
Approved
155/06 Any other business
The planning committee discussed Crossfell property on Station Road. The committee discussed a number of concerns regarding this property in its current state and it was agreed that a letter would be sent to Martyn Burke to enquire if the Planning Office could be of any assistance in acting to improve the appearance/repair of the property.
It was noted that Cllrs Horton and Jenkins would be meeting with Tony Poole from the Drains and Water Courses Office next week to discuss issues within the village.
