235/0607 Planning applications
Receipt of the following applications was acknowledged and considered as follows:
06/09526/FUL- 9 Hawthorne Grove
Two storey extension to west elevation
Resolved: Recommend approval
06/09744/FUL - Ghyll Beck Barn, Scalebor Park Farm
Conversion of existing integral garage to living accommodation. New attached garage and utility room. Dormer windows to first floor.
Resolved: Recommend approval with the condition that the new accommodation may not form a separate dwelling without a new application being submitted.
06/09629/FUL - 16 Grange Road
Conservatory with minor alterations to existing extension plus formation of off-road parking space The committee expressed no concerns over the conservatory but were dismayed by the prospect of loss of lawn and garden.
Resolved: Recommend approval
07/00014/FUL - 6 The Copse
Two storey extension to front of property
Resolved: Recommend approval
06/09354/FUL - 4 Greenfields Way
Two storey rear extension
It was noted that this application was supported by social services and although it came close to an adjoining property there were no overlooking windows.
Resolved: Recommend approval
07/00038/FUL - 6 Conisborough Close
Two storey side extension
The committee regarded this as a harmful extension of the Scalebor footprint into green belt land beyond the limits of the approved development.
Resolved: Recommend refusal
06/09657/FUL - Cragg House, Moor Road
Proposed garden/sun room
The committee expressed concern that the plan did not include full dimensions and working from the limited information available believed the extension at 32ft long and 10ft wider than the original dwelling to be disproportionate in size and intrusive on the green belt.
Resolved: Recommend refusal

Planning Officers from Ilkley had been in contact regarding application 06/06/09391/FUL, 40 Sandholme Drive. If the planning committee continued to object the application would be referred to an Area Planning Panel, there had been insufficient objections from neighbours for this to happen automatically. The committee discussed their objections based on Village Design Statement and it was agreed that Cllr Jones would consult the Planning Office to establish if the grounds for objection were sufficient to take to a Planning Panel.
Application 06/05546/FUL, 51 Lawn Avenue had gone to the Secretary of State on appeal.
