2005 Survey
The ‘Annexes’ section relates to documents that have been published, presented and are therefore already in the public domain. Therefore the documents have not been included within this report, but for reference purposes are listed under “Other” on the top menu.
No details of the 2005 survey have ever been published, and hence this section contains all relevant information:
Under the ‘Questionnaire’ heading :
- Introductory notes on the 2005 Survey
- The Survey areas, grouping locations within Burley in Wharfedale & Burley Woodhead
- The October 2004 preliminary questionnaire
Under the ‘Results’ heading :
- The January 2005 full questionnaire, along with the responses; listed by the Question Number, but indicating the actual content
- Overall analysis of the non–text questions
- Analysis of text questions
For the sake of simplicity, each of the above three items, where applicable, are grouped under each question.
The results of the 2005 survey are held by the Parish Council on CDROM, and can be interrogated in a number of ways for future use.
Introductory notes on the 2005 survey
The survey was prepared and analysed using the computer program Village Appraisals written by the University of Gloucestershire.
The survey form is reproduced in the following pages. Only issues included in the responses to the earlier October 2004 questionnaire were included. Issues raised but covered in other documents and meetings were excluded from the survey form, although of course these issues were considered during the creation of the action plan.
Answers received in text form (those to questions 7, 10, 13, and 20 and to the last part of questions 6, 8, 9, 12, 14, 17 and 16) were analysed manually and the results also considered in the creation of the action plan.
The survey questionnaire asked each respondent to complete the postcode, and from this each completed survey form was input with a code representing one of 11 areas of the village as listed on the following page. (A 12th code was used for those forms with this section left blank.) This allows further analysis at any time to identify different opinions held in different areas on specific issues.
In addition the responses can also be analysed by sex and age.
The survey form also invited residents possibly willing to volunteer to assist in any village activities to add their names.
24 residents responded, and have been contacted
