BCC Minutes – 10 January 07

BCC continues in order to complete the Burley House Field issue. The Agenda for the meeting included the single item.
This meeting was held following that of the BWCT on 10 January 2007
The decision in June by Shipley Area Committee about Burley House Field was passed to the Executive.
BS, ST and John Gundry attended the Executive on 6th December and presented our case that the footpath should not be fenced off and access to the whole field should be granted, with an endorsement of the resolution made in June.
The Executive endorsed the Area Committee's decision to allow Burley Parish Council to lease the field for recreational purposes, subject to a suitable termination of the 5-year agricultural lease.
JG has agreed to summarise the stages that have brought us to the current position, and the option of going for a third village green application within 2 years, following recent legislation in favour of past applicants, such as Burley, that lost out from legal decisions that can now be reconsidered.
