Minutes of the Committee meeting held on Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

BS explained that the BCC continues to exist for the sole purpose of progressing the Burley House Field issue which formed the main item on the agenda.

2. Minutes of the last meeting

These will be presented to the next meeting for signing.

3. AGM

BS reported that this had been incorporated within the recent Neighbourhood Forum. The current Committee had been willing to continue and were returned unopposed.

4. Burley House Field

JG reported that the third application had been submitted in February and had been advertised in the Telegraph and Argus and on the field itself. The one objection, from BMDC, was received on the 22nd May. The core of the objection relates to the time that it was common knowledge in Burley that BMDC was opposing the village green application. We have evidence to challenge this objection. Our barrister, Nigel Clayton , has advised us and JG is preparing a reply (sent 1st July) to the objection. Thanks were recorded to Nigel Clayton . It is not expected that there will be a need for a further public inquiry. It was not yet known whether the Inspector at the two previous inquiries would handle the third one.

BS thanked JG for his continuing efforts to secure the field as village green. These efforts were very much appreciated.
