Come and Meet the Artist
- Ian Middleton will be working on his painting of Burley in Wharfedale in the Library
Burley Library 2:30pm - 6pm
Thu 12 BWCT logoThe Community Trust is delighted to announce an Art Project in conjunction with Ian Middleton, who is a well-established professional artist who lives in our village. He has offered to do a painting of Burley in Wharfedale, done in his unique and very popular style. The plan is to involve people in the village as much as possible and there will be lots of opportunities to see the painting take shape.
Ian will be drawing and painting live in the library during the afternoon of 12th July. Children from the local schools will be coming in to meet Ian, put forward their ideas for what should be included, and perhaps be inspired to undertake some art work of their own. Everyone is welcome to come along from 2.30pm onwards to contribute. Lots of thinking has already been done on what special village locations should be included. Which views do you think should be included, from now and in the past?
It’s planned that the finished work will be available for view in time for the Christmas lights switch-on, Saturday 1st December 2018. The painting will be donated to the Community Trust and displayed where everyone can see it. You can read more about this and see pictures here: http://www.burleycommunitytrust.org/burley-painting.html
