Sun 21 Wharfedale Chamber Ensemble Family Concert
Are you a string player, of any age, who would like to play in a performance with Wharfedale Chamber Ensemble? Or are you or your children interested in trying out a string instrument? The Wharfedale Chamber Ensemble, which has built a reputation for giving fun and interesting short “Family Concerts” in Burley during the last six years, is giving its annual longer Family Concert conducted by Skipton Camerata’s Ben Crick. If you are a string player, there will be an opportunity to play in an arrangement of Beethoven’s ‘Ode to Joy’. All the music in this all-age concert will be explained to help everyone to enjoy the music of Janacek, Vivaldi, John Rutter and Tchaikovsky. The Ensemble will be joined by local bassoonist, Alice Wriglesworth, now studying at the RNCM in Manchester, in Vivaldi’s Concerto in C Major RV477. There will also be an opportunity for children and adults to have a try of any of the instruments in the concert, with members of the orchestra giving help and advice. The concert will last about an hour, with a short interval. Contact Clare for copies of ‘Ode to Joy’ and for tickets at certuition@gmail.com. For further details see the website wharfedalechamberensemble.org.uk Adults 6, under 19s 4 - Booking is advisable
